Alice Bag brings her Chicana punk attitude to the printed pages of her memoir, Violence Girl, and her second book, Pipe Bomb for the Soul.

The California Immigration Semester invites you to meet Alice Bag!! Alice is a punk rock singer, musician, author, educator and feminist archivist that grew up in East LA at the forefront of the punk rock scene in the late 1970s.
In her memoir, Violence Girl, she tells the story of her upbringing in East LA and the euphoria and aftermath of the first punk wave, shedding a new perspective on the origin of hardcore, a style most often associated with white suburban males.
